History in Avendar
History suggests Rveyelhi to be one of the younger gods of the Pantheon. Records of the Faithful speak of his manifestation with the rise of kingdoms after the War of Night. In the tumultuous times that followed, many a petty ruler sought to bring order to kingdoms through fear and force. It is said it was from their supplications that the force that would be known as Rveyelhi was created. In times since, the faithful of the Tyrannar have sought to bring order and secure power, crushing those who interfere with their goals. Setbacks have continued to plague Rveyelhi, though, such as the revival of Girikha and the escape of Bayyal. Such obstacles merely give cause for the Fist of Order to redouble his ruthlessness and resolve in seeing all of Avendar brought under his rule.
Goals and Methods
Rveyelhi seeks to bring the realms under his own orderly rule, simply put. He and his followers amass power, working with (or working through) other lawfully-minded allies. The Fist sees chaos as abomination, a resilient imperfection in the fabric of Avendar to be twisted and wrought straight with great force. By empowering those with similar views to wage war against the forces of Chaos, Rveyelhi plans to give rise to a perfectly ordered Avendar, whose ultimate ruler shall be the most logical choice: Himself.
Organizations and Followings
By their very nature, followers of the Black Throne arrange themselves into strict military hierarchies. Their ambitious natures often lace such groups with intrigue as plays are made for power and authority.
Tyrannars of the Black Throne
"I shall seize all that is my due, and by right that is all I survey."
If there is one truth held most deeply by Tyrannars it is that they were born to rule. Be it by strength of arm, sharpness of mind or an overwhelming personality, Servants of the Black Throne seek to gain power and control over others, believing themselves those most competent to lead. It is as much a compulsion born of duty as it is ego, some going so far as to bear their responsibilities like a yoke. Tyrannars often gravitate toward positions of control and leadership, always aiming to increase their station. Being issued commands by those not demonstrably their superior is considered an insult to their dignity. Then again, being ordered by those justified in doing so can grate even more so.
The Blackguard Inquisitors
"You -shouldn't- surrender. You -will- surrender. You will be broken. Twisted and ripped apart."
These zealous followers of the Fist of Order seek to grind chaos and its agents from the very fabric of the realm, giving rise to a world of ruthless, clockwork order. Blackguards often join the Guardians of Law to better bring control to the realms, using the Law of Iandir to destroy their enemies. As creatures of order Inquisitors always abide by the word of their dealings and the letter of the law, though rarely the spirit of either. They are ruthless in their duties, bringing death to criminals and chaotics without quarter and without mercy.
Accusers of the Fist
"Yes, mark them as Raiders and law-breakers. I shall have more names, soon. They do not suspect."
Masters of stealth, observation and manipulation, the Accusors of the Fist infiltrate the ranks of the Tyrannar's enemies. Often working with (but not as) the Guardians of Law, an Accuser travels with those he despises to expose weakness and uncover secrets to be divulged to trustworthy allies to act upon. These faithful walk a dangerous line, as exposure can force one to go to ground for a lengthy period before he can be trusted again. Though generally lawful, many are not above aiding or enabling a criminal act if it will see an enemy marked or slain. Such crimes are witnessed after all, and Guardians faithful to the Tyrannar of Order are inclined to mark on the word of an Accusor in good standing. The Accusors, of course, are extremely careful not to get caught, as the consequences tend to be dire.
Individual Followers
Rveyelhi is generally worshiped by those who seek power and those who seek order. Paranoid rulers, ruthless soldiers and scheming viziers are but a few of those likely to kneel before the Black Throne. They generally abide by the Laws of Iandir, seeing them as an adequate framework for a world without chaos. They will ally with followers of other non-chaotic gods when it suits their needs and are ever at the throats of those who dwell in disorder. There are a handful of the faithful who believe Rveyelhi was once a mortal Shuddeni and that he offers a path to godhood, but this is seen as heretical at best by the rest of his church, and those who profess such a belief are often forcibly silenced.
Relationships
Rveyelhi allies himself with the non-good gods of Law. His aggressive stance against any chaotic god, regardless of alignment often puts him at odds with the lightwalker pantheon of order. He is in a constant state of war against the gods of disorder, seeking to stomp out the worship of Girikha, Tzajai, Bayyal and the rest. Any meetings between their Avatars usually ends in a spectacular, if inconclusive, display of deific might. Rveyelhi is also at odds with Arkhural. Aiming to seize control of much of the Darkheart's portfolio for his own ends, the Fist-sworn often seek to murder and manipulate to seize control of the Lord of Fear's cults.
